Ancient athens created the very first modern democracy of politics. Greek believed that politics was very important, made you a better person. First place where people debated on big issues. Definitions of politics: (cid:862)de(cid:272)isio(cid:374) (cid:373)aki(cid:374)g (cid:373)e(cid:272)ha(cid:374)is(cid:373) for so(cid:272)iety(cid:863) People used to live in hunter-gatherer societies; not very many decisions to be mad, now very big decisions must be made: (cid:862)syste(cid:373) for (cid:272)o(cid:374)fli(cid:272)t resolutio(cid:374)(cid:863) People want different things and have different needs. Conflict is natural especially in large societies; politics helps with resolutions. Legal systems in place to help with the existing problems: (cid:862)authoritative allo(cid:272)atio(cid:374) of (cid:448)alues(cid:863) Not moral values, objects of value (wealth, health, status etc. ) The system allows the rich to accumulate money, built in bias for the wealthy businesses. I(cid:272)h people do(cid:374)(cid:859)t (cid:374)eed go(cid:448)er(cid:374)(cid:373)e(cid:374)t (they ha(cid:448)e their o(cid:449)(cid:374) jets, health, pri(cid:448)ate s(cid:272)hools etc. )
