Forms of power: power expressed as influence, somebody or something is trying to influence your behavior, operates through persuasion, appeals to your reason, appeals to your emotions, power expressed as coercion, threat or application of force, eg. A fine is an application of force: death penalty, power expressed as authority, the citizen does something willingly, it is the right thing to do and is expected of you, legitimacy + obligation. Given by someone: charismatic, people that use their charisma to persuade, eg. Fidel castro, gandhi: legal/rational, authority because of the position you are in, we follow the prime minister because of the legal position he is in and what he has gone through.
