Root of women oppression is patriarchy, embedded in all social institutions. Live the type of political they"d like to see. *liberal feminists believe they should fix the system instead of changing it completely* Led to a movement that did not listen to, or voice the needs of many women. Gaines that we have today, for example, maternity leave. Global, transnational, international, anti-racist feminists (move away from the local, how the lives of people here affects the lives of people there) Coalition politics (moving beyond women issues, environmental and political politics) More inclusionary and emphasis towards both genders. Masculinity is harmful to men as well. Allows people to have their own unique relationship to feminism. Post-feminist culture (vast majority of social institutions are women, medical school, law school) Something lost or open up with the third wave?
