Monday, January 11, 2010 Little Miss Sunshine impact of the media on young girls, self image of them, sense of what is real in the beginning they show a close up of Olives face, her glasses show a reflection of a pageant as if she is in the pageant documentary elements, the film challenges the norms of Hollywood, media and its neighbouring societies be the mom let people be who they are, not fall into what the society wants and expects Duane(older brother), father, grandfather, olive and mother(Cheryl) and frank father is not happy to see Frank (there is awkwardness between them) home is messy, to show how all their lives are in turmoil, and disorganized, there is no sense of unity and everyone is busy doing their own things nobody is talking to each other worked together as a family to get the car working grandfather was supportive of Olive when she didnt want the ice-cream and when the father lost his shares Olive is self conscious worried about being a loser and being pretty father was being discouraging when Olive wanted ice cream Friday, January 15, 2010 the grandpa knew that people were going to be shocked when they saw Olives performance, because he said were going to blow them away why didnt we feel humiliated for Olive
