Benefit from experience (learn and adapt from experience) Simon & binet - iq test items correlated positively = there"s a relationship among those test items, thus there"s a common factor that determines how intelligent an individual is. That is general intelligence (g) - accounts for overall differences in intellect among ppl. Specific abilities (s) accounts for one domain of high skill. Spearman: high or low s in spatial reasoning. Cattell and horn distinguished there are diff types of intelligences. Fluid intelligence - ability to construct a new solution to a problem.
