(slide 19) Awe has changed for men and women independently but overall the gap has not closed. *basically, women aren"t encouraged to do these sorts of occupations. Token cannot hide/blend in and are looked at differently and watched, screw up because people are looking at them and expecting differently, must overcompensate to show their good. Stereotype threat african american"s are not as good as performing on tests and after the test, they actually support the stereotype. So afraid to confirm the stereotype through validation so it interferes with performance. No benefits for part-time jobs and less job security and less pay. Cannot ask you your age in job question.
