Behaviour is repeatedly disruptive: have to observe a person for a long time to determine if they have a disorder, assessed in snap-shots in time, person has no insight that they have a disorder. Difficulties in studying causes of personality disorders: the issue of cause and comorbidity, prospective versus retrospective research.
