Death & coping with being last of your generation. To make sure that when you are looking at development, you are looking at development a whole and cover everything: multidirectionality. Development increases and decreases, platues etc at varying rates and at different times or within same period. Development is not a one-way streak: multidimensionality. Different dimensions of development that interact cannot be ignored. You can"t look at physical development without considering some aspects of social or cognitive development: plasticity. However, amount of plasticity varies because plasticity is at its highest peak at childhood: history and context.
