Information-loss view: information is not being bound together as well as it used to so if the information goes too quickly can lose it. Young adults is schooling as still very much in that learning phase. Late adulthood is retirement and possibly long-term care. Middle adulthood is peak of career and family responsibility. Middle adulthood focus is career focus and becoming an expert in some cognitive abilities that are most relevant to your career. Late adulthood focus is on physiological factors as going through physical decline which influences cognitive abilities. Young adulthood focus is on natural maturation getting to peak adult levels and a lot is focused on academic achievement.
