Offer direct communication between brain and machine takes advantage of large reliable response to moving visual stimuli (vep: vep acts as way of confirming a persons selection through eye movement. Helps people with communication problems to communicate with their eyes alone. Does this mean there"s conscious awareness in an unconscious person. 180 billion cells communicate within the brain. 80 billion of these cells are involved with cognition. Activity produced by the brain: electromagnetic activity, electrical chemical network results in a persons happiest and saddest feelings. Components: dendrite, axon of axon, terminal button, synapse turns electrical signal back into chemical exchange. Space where chemicals get transferred to the next dendrite receptors. Absorbs chemical stimulation from other neurons: soma. Makes the decision whether there"s enough dendritic the body of the cell activity to fire electric action potential. Conducts electrical signal to terminal buttons at end. Bottom: anterior front of head, posterior.
