Constructivist: qualitative methods, describes situations transformative, integrates both post positivist and constructivist, explains external reality, work with participants choosing values that ensures change, altering values of individuals action research. Used as tool for social change it"s a participatory, democratic process concerned with developing practical knowing in pursuit of worthwhile human purposes grounded in participatory worldview which we believe is emerging at this historical moment. Both knowledge and practice: qualitative methods mostly, sometimes quantitative. Action-evaluation-critical reflection: not studying people, studying with the people share power, not experts limitations. Peer review: have to be apart of every step of the way, you have to set it up, more difficult to report and get published guidelines institutional review informed consent. Display cultural sensitivity: especially with disadvantaged groups (cid:1) (cid:1) types of research. Quantitative research methodology: traditional, hypothesis testing. Correlational research: investigates relationships between concepts/ variables, no manipulation, measure of strength of observed relationship. Pearson correlation coefficient: cannot conclude causality.
