Social influence processes (conformity, obedience) generally serve us well, unless accepted unquestiongly. Groups to increase chance of off spring, helps keep order, protect each other. Enhancement of easy tasks or disruption of difficult ones, elicited by the presence of others. Social facilitation: performance on an easy task is enhanced due to a certain group present. Disruption: performance on a harder task is disrupted when a group is present. Tendency to overestimate the impact of dispositional influences(internal) (personality, attitudes, intelligence) on other peoples behaviour.
