42 views1 pages

Document Summary

The reason there"s so much disagreement (in physics for ex), it"s because it"s so hard to discover the facts. Epistemic reason reasoning for believing in something, where the reason indicates that the thing is true. Point is, one of the ways to ground way your way in your beliefs, it"s to ground your way in the evidence. A good critical thinker is someone who turns right into the evidence, and doesn"t worry too much on the emotional and pragmatic. Belief: sometimes people believe in things not based on evidence, ie: emotional, bias. To know something it has to be true, and be based on enough (sufficient) of the right kind of evidence (acceptable). Evidence that are in conflict with each other: overridden. Withholding judgement is a really hard action to take.
