Statement/claim - an assertion that something is or is not the case. Proposition - the idea or thought that is expressed by the statement. What you are trying to convey in your statement. I. e its snowing, il neige and het sneewt are all statements in different languages that propose the same thing. Premise - a statement that is offered in support or to backup a conclusion. I. e. a lawyer"s conclusion is that their client is innocent and has statements to support this conclusion therefore the lawyer has 3 premises for their conclusion. Conclusion - is a statement that is held to be supported by one or more premises. Argument - a collection of statements, one of which is taken to be supported ( the conclusion) by the remaining statements (premises) An argument is a group of statements in which some (the premises) are intended to support another (the conclusion)
