Women are the dominant workers in field of health, care-based, education, clerical and service positions. Globally, the majority of people living in poverty are women. Women still do most of the (unpaid) domestic work, regardless of employment status. Socialization is the main source of gender inequality. Consistent with the two-realms theory: doesn"t question sex differences but sees gender. Particularly interested in ideologies of gender difference that people use to make sense as social of themselves and others. Strengths: appreciates the substantive degree to which social processes and ideas are involved in beliefs about gender differences. Limitation: there are many people who seem to defy the effects of socialization. Sex inequality - the biological differences between men and women have been exploited.
