Society is an abstract term, designing a disparate but related series of (or with institutions) the media makes people think features in our world . So avoid using the term in a personifying way. From the moment we are born, we are, of necessity, part of the social world; none of us can ever be free of it. It is for this reason that a careful examination of that world is so essential to understanding human behavior (naiman, 2012, p. 10) We are not socially determined (to turn out a specific way), but we are socially constituted. We have choices but within particular conditions of possibilities. Human agency: our capacity as individual actors. We have the capacity to critically reflect, and innovate, from present. People can break social patterns and norms. But it is not as simple as society provides constraints and individuals conditions exercise choice. Paradoxically, freedom, and possibilities sometimes come from constraints (naiman, 2012)
