Gender is a core status that starts when we are born and creates all of our social existence. Freud believed women are inferior and display negative behaviour because they are not men. They are the victims of sexual assault and in homicide 97% of the time these are the wives. In the media, traditional female roles as sex roles are still promoted. In the house of commons, women are represented a meagre 21% of the time. Homosexuality is illegal in many countries, women are faced with health dangers more than men.
