Shared by all members : everyone that is part of the culture shares the same guidelines and rules. We all eat: the elements of a culture are largely integrated the components fit together, even though there may be contradictory or conflicting elements. Culture as a way of life: culture in the broadest sense, e. g. language, religion, rituals, things that define how a person lives. High culture or capital c culture: well known preserved, shakespeare, museums, couture fashion. Mass culture: sports critical mass, concept of diamond rings for being married. Popular culture: films, music, not going to last long. Countercultures and subcultures: hipsters, counterculture political distance from the main stream. Identify with a different way of life: subculture alternative to main stream. What culture is/what counts as good culture is debatable. Similarly, there are no singular truths or meanings in cultural practices and products. (popular) culture is political. People have varied and complicated relationships to (popular) culture.
