Equity: principle based on fairness, justice, access, opportunity advancement for everyone, while recognizing historically underserved and underrepresented populations, identifying conditions needed to improve effective opportunities for all groups, and eliminating barriers to their full participation. Equity: ensuring everyone gets what is right for them (*who needs what in that moment) Diversity: a definition (cid:862)we defi(cid:374)e diversity as a(cid:374) a(cid:374)ti-oppression framework built on principles that value social equity, social justice, social inclusion and global citizenship. In fact, using a diversity framework is a means of resisting the indifference that can come with power and privilege(cid:863) All identities (gender, race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, age, nationality, etc. ) are socially constructed. This means that these ideas are created/invented by people for social purposes. The social construction of identities are context specific ie. they change according to time and place. Identities are never neutral in societies but are tied to ideas about value and status.
