Today, when men participate in domestic labour & child care, they don"t see it as their job, they are. Ex/ i"m helping my wife by setting the table washing the dishes ideology of the separation of the private & public spheres. Parsons: breadwinner role for men job & responsibility become mainly financial responsibility: labour force trends post ww2 era. Married women worked also, paid labour, but inside the home.
