Document Summary
A way to understand and respond to marginalization or inequality (i. e. uneven distribution of power/resources in society) An understanding that different populations need different actions to achieve similar outcomes. Surveys are a research design in which a sample of subjects is drawn from a population and studied (usually interviewed) to make inferences about the population. Surveys are chiefly used in studies that have individual people as unit of analysis. Even though they can be used for groups, it is still important to have one individual as the chief respondent. Surveys are a relatively inexpensive way to reach a large number of people quickly as well to describe a small population or an individual. A researcher can choose to interview them in person, by phone, or using a survey tool.
