Starting in the bronze age to the classical period. The main centres of civilization were in crete, then the myceneans took over. In myth: king minos, minotaur, labyrinth, birthplace of zeus. This organization needed a great deal of record keeping, its in a script but we do not recognize a lot about linear a, we cannot read it. They produced a lot of beautiful art, we see the importance of the bull in many of these pieces. In myth, crete is the birthplace of king minos. Greek-speaking- linear b, written in syllables instead of in letters which is why we can"t read it. In myth: homer"s archaeans and the trojan war. Starts to take off and many city-states are well developed across. Language comes into play in the 8th century, homer was alive around. About 150 years after hesiod we see writing start to explode and great playwrights and philosophers come in to play.
