The twelve labours, in service to his cousin eurystheus, King of mycenae; this was to repent for killing his family. His travels through all of the mediterranean, making him truly pan hellenic. Gets pissed, shoots an arrow at helios, he appreciates his bravery, helios give herakles a cup to travel in. This would have been found humorous (the picture in the slide) If you look in other myths, helios does not ride around in a cup, he has a chariot in all other myths. This has a bit of the egyptian myths in it, where the god of the sun rode around the sky in a boat. Rides the cup to arithya, wherever that may be. Geryon- a three bodied "person", defeated pretty easily by herakles, with athena"s help. Cacus- a bad guy with the name "bad guy" Cacus drove away all of the bulls and cows.
