Mechonoreceptors respond to mechanical forces (pressure, vibration) Osmoreceptors sense osmotic pressure of body fluids. Nociceptors respond to pain by sending signals to cns: define pain and referred pain, and differentiate between them. Pain physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury. Referred pain when you feel pain in one part of your body, when in reality another part of the body, far removed rom the pain, is the real source of trouble: the special senses. Balance: describe the anatomical layers (tunics) of the eye and the functions of each structure. Fibrous tunic- sclera maintains shape of eyeball, protects internal structures, provides attachment point for muscles that move it; cornea permits light to enter eye by bending or refracting light.
