Of the hundreds of poisonous substances in cigarette smoke some include nicotine, acetone (nail polish remover), ammonia, hexamine (lighter fluid), arsenic, carbon monoxide, and toluene (industrial solvent). The concentration of particles in smoke is 50,000 times that of a smoggy urban environment. Using light" cigarettes does not reduce the health hazards of smoking. Smokers change their smoking pattern when using light" cigarettes. Most importantly, they inhale more deeply, hold the smoke longer in their lungs, and smoke more cigarettes. This actually makes the light" cigarettes more dangerous. In people who only smoke cigars, the health hazards are less than for a smoker but still much more than for a nonsmoker: health hazards of smoking. Every organ system in your body is negatively affected by smoking. Our bodies were never designed to withstand an assault of chemicals that enter our body by tobacco smoke. The dangers of tobacco smoke include environmental tobacco smoke (ets).
