Height distance curve = height vs age show plateau twice (4years-old + 14years-old) Height velocity curve = growth velocity (cm/y) vs age shows absolute max at first point and maximum between 12-16y indicate maturity: needs longitudinal data (long term data) Occurs differently for each body part difference in proportional length growth. Child growth longitudinal; becomes more linear (less weight for height = ponderous = weight/height); head gets smaller + limbs get longer. Adult growth no more longitudinal growth only cross-sectional growth; tall more linear (less ponderous), proportionally longer limbs, proportionally weaker (strength:mass) Allometry (general) growth of one part in relation to growth of another part.
