Cogs 110 - lecture 10 - basic survival drives. Will trump all other things to worry about more or less. Desire to interact, be connected to, experience caring for others. E. g. joys of having convo w/ friends, having teammates cheer for you, planning a prank. We feel comfortable if we feel confident doing something. Be able to choose our actions and circumstances. We want to do things & be places of our own choosing. Can be powerful drive, even if basic needs are already met. To understand someone, incredibly important & powerful not to know why they are doing what they do, but what means they are trying to meet by doing what they are doing. If we can think of 3 things as rewards, then they should drive behaviour. In speed, should find examples of 3 things. What to do - read speech & find examples in speech where king henry using 3 ideas to motivate troops.
