Stanger-perpetrated -extremely low rate, mostly occurred by known people by victim. More easy motivated, easy to access cuz they know the weakness: bizarre, deserving vs. undeserving victims why is even question to bring up. Lenient sentences longer than usual same suspects got, shorter than society expected. Impact of media: disproportionate(unbalanced) fear of crime -higher fear in low-income, minorities, lone-parent families, elderly previously victimized easily more fearful, women -young men: most fearful. / women can more emotional in certain situation, social control differently or social expectation, women do some certain crimes. Strangers: decreased public support for police & courts. Lobby for greater punishment -more severe longer punishment.
