Week 1 chapter 5 constructing a research proposal. Constructing researchable questions: present your research questions in a way that helps your define the nature and scope of the research. The research question: most important factor influencing your research decisions is your research question, underlying objectives of your questions serve as signposts or route markers that guide you towards making particular design decisions. What will you do if people refuse to participate: identifying and addressing ethics issues. As academic, social, or health researchers, we have a certain degree of influence and power within the research setting. How will you obtain the free and informed consent of your participants. At the first opportunity, prospective participants will be given an information sheet that includes a lengthy description that identifies the purpose of the research, what their participation would involve, who they should contact to find out more. Persons interviewed can be asked how confidential they would prefer the interview to be.
