Types of interactive methods: surveys and questionnaires, interviews, oral history. The range of techniques that fall under interactive methods is large and getting large with digital technologies. All respondents normally will receive exactly the same set of questions worded in exactly the same way. Objective of research will be to amass a large sample as possible. We use the word interview to refer to more qualitative process of a researcher exchanging information with a research participant. Distinctive because of style and extensiveness of interaction. Three different types of survey questions based on medium of administration: pencil and paper questionnaire, telephone survey, browser based survey. There are many different question formats that are all equally easy to include. Benefits about questionnaires include that anyone can ask anything in every kind of survey. All three allow for one to amass a large amount of data quickly. Many survey data archives to allow others to access them.
