Written exam: different for every department, spelling, grammar, basic arithmetic. Initial interview: important, you can"t talk = you won"t be hired, all about what you look like and how you act. Presentation suitable attire: answers don"t matter that much. Expect you to be nervous: why do you want to be a police officer. I want to help people (not a good answer) Popat: practice session (upper body strength) Assessment centre: municipal departments only (not rcmp, initiative by municipal departments of bc, evaluation (scenario and see how you react, role play, group work. Use of force: how to use your handcuff, baton, pepper spray in various situations, etc. Physical training: runs, burpees, circuits, push ups, etc. Firearms: glock 22 (all departments except vancouver)
