Csc is responsible for : care and custody of inmates, providing programs that facilitate rehabilitation and reintegration, preparing inmates for release, parole, statutory release supervision, long term supervision, maintaining public education program about operations of the service. Supports commissioner; act as commissioner when required. Development and oversight of programs for women offenders. Manages csc operations in their respective regions. Leadership in providing advice on cjs matters: senior deputy commissioner, deputy commissioner for women, 5 regional deputy commissioners, 7 assistant commissioners. 3 levels of management: national management level. Csc sectors: women offender sector, correctional operations and programs sector, policy and research sector, performance assurance sector, corporate services sector, human resource management sector, health services sector. Ongoing program delivery for federally sentenced women. Responds to offender compensation and human rights issues. Resolution of administrative and human resource activities. Quality and integrity of health services provided to federal offenders. Eg. assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health education, disease prevention, etc .
