***second mini essay due 2 weeks from today: feb 20th 2013. In this essay i intend to argue that . In the oresteia, when someone is killed the furies show up. They don"t debate they are a part of nature that hates death and wants to take revenge for it: the furies are like the immune system that we all possess. A lot of stuff that is dealt with in the oresteia is automatic. Aeschylus wants us to understand how the greek world changed from revenge, blood thirsty to a more decision making society. He wants to give us a world that is much more democratic: we can put an end to the cycle of vengeance. With the help of a wise god (athena) we can create an administration of justice. Oedipus- antigone oedipus at colomus unrelated. Sophocles is the most philosophical of all the playwrights. Sophocles integrates psychology he shows us choices and tragedy.
