They go pawing toward it through the fog : image metaphor, target: trying to find the words to say to the girls. Source: pawing through the fog: pawing for the words, they"re having difficulty trying to find the right words. Plot imagery: jostling with each other, being physical, boys being idiots: young men, tactile imagery. Danger : full stop why, excited by trying to woo the girls. Plot of imagery: they are haggling for the prices of oranges: old women.
