E. o wilson - intelligent evolution influence = enjoyed by the scientific writings of charles darwin o. For over 150yrs, his books have spread light on the living world & human condition (both are timeless & persistently inspirational) like a narrative. Beagle (1845) has observations in natural history of the kind that were to guide darwin toward his worldview. 2nd: on the origin of species (1859) documents evidence of organic evolution & introduces theory of natural selection. Man (1871) origin of man & his history. 4th: the expression of the emotions in man & animals (1872) origin & nature of mind. Darwin"s research/theories/etc. started w/friend and supporter thomas henry huxley who said how extremely stupid of me not to have thought that! natural selection = 1 true law unique to biological systems o. All biological processes arose through evolution of these systems through natural selection addressing this = evolutionary biology biology.
