We often take these terms as common sense; we think we know everything about being male or female . To categorize/divide on the basis of two opposing categories. Language that we use to describe sex and gender makes things normal and abnormal . Limits our imagination and justifies power; allows us to justify or weald power in some way. Generally describe gender as male or female and those who do not identify as either are considered abnormal. The working mother ; creates assumptions about gender. Women are normally expected to stay at home and care for children, not work or have a career. Men are not seen as working fathers because they are expected to work and provide. Series of forces which influence the person you become. How you present yourself, how you define yourself & how others respond to you. Cultural expectations and assumptions attached to being male or female .
