Williams argues against this in why cities look the way that they do. Powerful sources that want to keep detroit as a ruin. Colonialism is the reason why changes are taking place as they are. Lots of ppl within vancouver moving toward the central city, not much space for certain communities to be able to a ord housing in the area with property rates rising. Immigrants, ethnicity, those who are in moments of upheaval are systematically marginalized. These groups of people are successful in places of resistance.
