Being born female is dangerous to health especially in low and middle income countries. Women"s health issues are determined by a combination of biological and social determinants. Ex: iron deficiency anemia related to menstruation, pregnancy complications, unhealthy lifestyles. Relate predominately to gender norms usually to the disadvantage of females. Associated with infection and blood poisoning because of unclean instruments used. Women are more susceptible to stis and hiv. Violence is usually episodic and not reported and is often associated with sexual abuse. Sexual abuse includes rape, sexual assault, sexual molestation, sexual harassment and incest. Safe abortion (who): those abortions that are performed by trained healthcare providers with proper equipment correct technique and sanitary standards. A condition where a hole opens up between the bladder and the vagina or between rectum and vagina. People with obstetric fistula are stigmatized or abandoned. Risk factors are those linked with obstructed delivery (ex: undernutrition, multiple births, fgc)
