Learning a second language is not as easy as learning the first one: second language requires lots of time, years of practice, and it still wont be as perfect as the first one. Behaviourism: (cid:862)conditioning(cid:863) (most important concept in this theory) certain response is association with a certain stimulus. Classical conditioning learning process that occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired (a response where the first is depended on the second stimulus) Important factors: the unconditioned stimulus, the unconditioned response, and the conditioned stimulus. Operant conditioning a process where an animal learns a behaviour pattern as the result of trial-and-error to get a reward or avoid punishment. Experiments show that children can distinguish voiced and voiceless sounds when they are 1 month old.
