Document Summary
The sounds that comprise a language (to this we can add phonology, the way in which these sounds interact) The list of words (with their properties) in a language. The limits of my language are the limits of the world . The english language has an enormous number of words no matter what method we use to count. The majority of the words in english are not native english words but either borrowed or formed from borrowed elements from latin, greek and french - about 80% of the entire english vocabulary! These roots are dependable and unchanging and serve as the key to understanding the vocabulary of english and many of the modern european languages. While it may be true that practically any concept can be expressed in any language, a language can make the process easier or harder by providing or not providing words.
