If it is false, then 1 or 2 must be as well. If an argument cannot be made well-formed, reject it. If the premises are reasonable for you to believe and the argument is valid, then it is strong for you. To have rational grounds for rejecting the argument, you must either have rational grounds for rejecting at least one premise, or evidence that defeats the argument. Evaluating specific types of premises: speci c factual claims. There are no magic tricks here to help you, you must consult your evidence. Sometimes if someone told you something, then you may have good reason to believe them. If believe they would not lie for some reason or that they are knowledgable.
