Political philosophy is a systematic inquiry that ranges from principle and the linking of claims about human nature, to the arguments of particular institutions and how they support the good for human beings. Also a lot of your grade rides on your general participation in the tutorial and the role you play in presenting your results in the tutorials, see pages 3-4. Participation grades are not based on simply being there, you must participate. This chan book is used because it is a nice combination of carefully examined exerts with great introductions to the different array of political philosophical thinkers. These set you up for a more careful reading of the actual text. Read the introductions before you read the required readings. John rawls is considered to be the most influential political thinker of the 21st century.
