PSYC 201W Lecture Notes - Lecture 2: Psychological Reports, Intelligence Quotient
Document Summary
Running head: summary of teachers" expectancies: determinants of pupils" iq gains. The article by rosenthal & jacobson (1966), was a study based on a theory of the previous study and was carried out in respect with the flanagan nonverbal intelligence test. It was based on test- ing the skills of the students which are not school learned. It examined a child"s vocabulary and other aspects to test the intelligence of people away from academically related elements. The main reason for conducting the research was to estimate the intellectual gain of the students. This test was administered to elementary school students and their teacher where students were randomly sampled within the six available grades students were selected as either performing low, average or above average. Only 20 percent of the students in each class were involved in the experiment. Teacher"s participation represented the independent variable (iv) while iq was de- pendent variable (dv).
