Unable to conduct true experiments as a result. What factors lead to attraction? (5 key ingredients) Propinquity effect: the more we see and interact with people, the more likely they are to become our friends and lovers. A study in the 1950s conducted by festinger, schachter, and back asked people living in dorms who their best friends were. Found that (cid:1093)(cid:1092)% of people"s best friends lived in the same building as them.
