Document Summary
Personality: the relatively enduring (stable over time) patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that reflect the tendency to respond in certain ways under certain circumstances(effects of situation) . Personality refers to both inward and outward characteristics of a person: personality is the individual differences in: -behavior -thoughts and beliefs - Reliability: stability of responses on an assessment measure: high stability= high correlation between scores at different times. Validity: is the test measuring what it purports to measure: you can"t have validity without reliability, but it"s possible to have reliability without validity. Most likely to fail to resist on media use: trait self-control reduced desire strength. Personality theories are general behaviour theories, not every theory represents a complete model of human behaviour, each theory presents a particular lens through which to see human behaviour. We enter the world as social actors, performing emotions, develop reputations in our social group.
