Extended phenotypes and how they bring about adhd. Being able to inhibit oneself creates a pause in activity, this pause is important becuae it enables u to decide to abandon or change behaviour. These delays also create a moment of vulnerability, u can get distracted during this though. So its important to pause, but also important to protect self during pause. Self directed appraisal (5) happens when we have ability to protect self from distraction and have a memory of actions, and talk to ourselfs, leads to self directed appraisal. This is the ability to motivate and remotivate to stay on task with goals. This is important especially if there is no external motivation, or delays in reinforcements. Self play (6), imagining things that happened in the past, and imagine how the future may look like. Creating novel information (like new ideas or new combinations of things to tackle goals)
