Identification with the environment (part of natural world, connection/commitment o to it, biosphere) political identity (e. g. , green peace) work on behalf of environment. Huge turn out: all protestors interviewed had low efficacy they didn"t think it would work. still came out to streets to protest. Because of how many participated, there"s lots of normative pressure to express this identity, even if they feel it has low efficacy. Biosphere identification and environmental activism (schmitt, payne, droogendyk, giamo, Baray: the natural world humans, a common way to look at this, but it"s a very limited way of looking at the relationship, may leave out many things o o o, includes other species, etc. Identification with biosphere: used different items in the 2 studies, study 1: 4 items (clayton, 2003) I thin of myself as a part of nature, not separate from it.
