Printing as a technology had a significant impact on european intellectual history as has often been linked to the beginning of the age of revolution. Rise of print allowed us to see increasing interest in new ideas, innovating, and pushing forwards. Increasing interest in intellectual revolution rather than adherence to the ideas of the past: some ideas that come out of the enlightenment are good, some have consequences that haunt us to this day. Key technology of the public sphere: undeniably the newspaper, the coffee house; allows people to communicate and share/spread ideas (public discourse) Rationalism: the doctrine or belie that reason should be the only guiding principle in life, obviating the need for reliance on, or adherence to, any form of religious belief.
