The practice of sociology consists of many things. If you are going to gather statistical surveys, content analysis. The goal being of collecting individuals data and painting a larger collection. It is guided by the fantasy of facts. You need to frame this thing in some other way. there is something that is taken for granted. (cid:1) Theory helps to explain things: a statement of how facts and why facts are related. People who are less socially associated are more likely to commit suicide- this is fuddu khata. Durkeim shows that there are social patterns to commit suicide. Like being married we are bound to social norms and relations. Capitalism and economic system produces its own ways of destruction. Micro level observations: like group of people being broken down. Theory is not equal to common sense it is critical thinking. Theory is not inaction- false binary and a form of engagement.
