Narratives demonstrate productive capacity of everyday routines in constructing healthy space. But, particular landscapes are found to be used/experienced/perceived differently by diff people. Everyday actions of migrants need situating within the overlapping local and global processes in their lives. Women seen to reconstruct dominant roles of identity thru everyday practices . Area that remains unexplored: women"s work in constituting healthy homes in diaspora. Immigrants and refugees as creative agents in negotiating their otherness. Ties that migrant communities maintain with their homeland. Provides a useful way of framing identities. Home understood in the sense of a transnational domain. Focus on everyday practices in revealing the workings of human agency. Challenge static view of an ahistorical identity.
